Dotsero sits where the Eagle River gives itself up to the Colorado, right at the mouth of Glenwood Canyon, with an old cinder cone standing above the confluence — the youngest volcano in the state, quiet now and grown over in sage. This is dry red-rock country, hot in July and generous with wind, and green here is something a person makes on purpose.
