Andrew's Lawn and Snow

About Andrew's Lawn and Snow

Some snow work is a fleet, and some of it is one person, a shovel and a route learned by heart. Andrew's Lawn and Snow runs the second kind through southwest Denver, where the curving streets around Harvey Park don't forgive a plow that only knows straight lines. The trick in this city is the sun: a south-facing walk can be dry by noon on its own, while the north side of the same house holds a glaze of ice for three days if nobody touches it. So the shady stretches get scraped to the concrete and treated, the steps get cleared corner to corner, and the drive gets opened wide enough for a real car door. It's unglamorous, cold-fingered work, and there's nothing quite like seeing a whole block of it finished before breakfast.
