About Ace of Spades Gardening & Design | Denver

Baker's brick Victorians sit close to the street with small, particular front yards — the kind where a few square feet of lawn, a border and a good edge decide how the whole house reads. Ace of Spades Gardening & Design | Denver takes those yards seriously in both directions of the year: shaping and mowing and keeping the beds honest while the growing season runs, then coming back in January to clear the walk and the narrow drive between the houses. Summer here is hot at noon and cool by nine, and gardens on these blocks reward anyone willing to work the edges of the day. Winter storms slide in overnight and leave a foot of dry snow on a sidewalk barely wider than a shovel. Same hands, same streets, two different kinds of care — and either way the place looks like somebody meant it.
