About Black Canyon Landscape, llc

East of town the Gunnison cuts down into dark rock and keeps going, and the wind that comes back up out of that country arrives in Delta with an edge on it. Black Canyon Landscape, llc keeps a foot in both halves of the year — mowing and trimming through the long green stretch, then trading blades for plow steel once the first hard freeze sets in. In summer the work is patient: level cuts, tidy borders, a yard that holds its shape between visits. In winter it is early and loud, and it ends with a driveway a person can walk out onto in ordinary shoes. Two kinds of work, one valley, and the same wish behind both — that nobody has to think about it.
