The older streets of Dakota Ridge carry shade the newer ones do not — ash and maple and a few cottonwoods tall enough to darken an entire yard by four in the afternoon. Trees By Mr. B. LLC keeps the lawns underneath them, which is its own particular trick: mowing turf that thins in shade, trimming around trunks without scarring bark, edging walks that surface roots keep lifting. Come October the canopy lets go all at once and the leaf cleanup begins, rake and blower, until the grass can see daylight again before winter. Spring runs the reverse — clearing the winter litter so the first growth pushes up clean. Under big trees, a good lawn is mostly a matter of timing.
