About Care Enterprises, Snow and Ice Management

Winter in Conifer starts high and does not ask permission: a storm banks up against the foothills, the ponderosa go quiet under the weight, and every steep gravel driveway off US-285 turns into a problem to be solved before anyone can get down the hill. Care Enterprises, Snow and Ice Management runs the plows through those dark hours, clearing drives, lots and walkways and treating the ice that forms where the pines keep the sun off all day. Up at this elevation the shaded curve stays slick long after the road looks fine, and that is the spot the work is really aimed at. The reward comes at daybreak — headlights pulling out onto a cleared drive, nobody late, nobody stuck. Then the pines shed their loads with a soft thump and the mountain goes back to being beautiful.
