Plowing lots and drives, shoveling walks that are slush at noon and ice by six, spreading melt along the north sides where the sun never quite reaches. It's the strangest snow of the year — half of it gone by the next afternoon, all of it a problem while it's here. Clear it now, and the crocuses come up underneath, entirely unbothered.
