Summer evenings in Columbine belong to the sprinklers, hissing up and down the streets around Lilley Gulch and Weaver Hollow Park while the light goes amber behind the hogback. Green Man Lawns works those blocks, mowing, string trimming the fence lines, cutting edges along beds and walks, and keeping the turf fed and clear of weeds through the long dry stretch. Aeration in the shoulder seasons lets the water actually reach the roots instead of running off hardpan. Cleanups come twice a year, once for whatever winter left and once for whatever the cottonwoods drop. Green is not automatic at a mile high; it is a thing somebody tends into being, one week at a time.
