About Murphy's Lawn Maintenance

The old blocks near Old Colorado City hold small, square yards behind narrow lots, the kind that reward patience more than horsepower. Murphy's Lawn Maintenance moves through them midweek, mowing tight around porch steps and lilac stems, running the trimmer along the alley fence where the mower cannot follow. Water is precious on this side of the divide, so the cut is kept sensible and the edges are what carry the look. There is something honest about a modest yard held to a sharp line, and these streets have plenty of them. The truck pulls away, the walk is swept, and the block looks a shade more cared for than it did an hour before.
