North of the city the ground lifts toward Monument and the Rampart Range fills the entire west window. Intermountain Lawns mows the open, wind-scoured lots up around Gleneagle and Northgate, where grass greens later in spring and holds on later in fall than it does downtown. Elevation writes its own schedule, so the routes follow the season rather than a date on the wall. Even cuts across the big front lawns, trimming close along drives, fences and light poles, clippings cleared before moving on. On a clear morning up here you can be mowing in shirtsleeves with snow still bright on the Rampart.
