The Powers corridor never quite sleeps, and on a storm night it belongs to the plow trucks. F&B Landscaping runs the wide lots out toward Cimarron Hills — the ones that have to be open and walkable before the first shift arrives, whatever fell between midnight and five. Snow here is stubborn in the shade and gone by lunch in the sun, so the work is as much reading the pavement as pushing the pile: corners stacked with room to spare, entrances swept, walkways scraped to concrete and treated where ice likes to return. When the plains light comes up flat and pink over the eastern prairie, the lots look as though nothing happened at all. That is exactly the point.
