About Yard West Services

The last stop of the day faces west, out where the valley opens toward Fruita and the desert goes gold and then violet. Yard West Services finishes there, the final mow of the afternoon, the edge run, the walk cleared while the light drains out of the Grand Valley. Lawn care is a job measured in evenings like that one, sixteen yards behind you and every one of them level and clean. Clifton grass grows fast through the long summer days and wants a steady hand every week. Locking the trailer with the whole route done is as satisfying as this work gets.
