About Ben Dowd Excavating, Inc

Some winter mornings the Grand Valley fills with fog nearly to the height of the cliffs, and Clifton sits under a gray lid until noon. Those are the mornings Ben Dowd Excavating, Inc is out early, headlights in the murk, opening driveways and lots before the first commute rolls toward I-70. Snow does not fall here constantly; it arrives, it means it, and it has to be off the concrete before a day of tires packs it into ice. There is plain pleasure in a lot cleared corner to corner, a walk scraped down to bare gray, and the shaded stretch treated so nobody slips. Clifton wakes up, and the way through is already made.
