About Widow Maker Tree Services LLC

Cañon City sits in a pocket of warm air where the Arkansas River comes out of the Royal Gorge, and the winters go so easy here that people are out in their yards while the high country is still buried. Widow Maker Tree Services LLC works that mild ground — pruning fruit wood and shade trees in the neighborhoods above the Riverwalk, trimming back whatever leans over a fence, removing the cottonwoods that have finally gone hollow. Under the red hogback of Skyline Drive the wind can drop out of nowhere and put a heavy limb through a carport in a single gust. They cut it out, haul the wood and the brush and the small sharp pieces too, and hand the yard back the way it should look. A tree shaped in February is a tree that carries its leaves easily in July.
