Altitude Arborist

About Altitude Arborist

Superior sits on the shelf between Coal Creek and the mesa, and the wind coming down off the Flatirons treats a young tree like an examination. Altitude Arborist works the health side of that: reading a canopy for what is thinning, what a dry winter has stressed, what a root zone under packed clay is trying to say. The pruning follows from the reading — structural cuts on the staked and hopeful young trees out along Rock Creek, weight reduction on the elders near Original Town — and when a tree cannot be brought back, removal is the honest answer. Tree care on this plain is a long game; every one of these trees was planted on purpose, and they are counted in decades. The good days end with a tree that will still be standing when the person who paid for the work is old.
