October on the Front Range does not ask permission. One afternoon the cottonwoods around Brighton are still gold; the next, Longs Peak is white to the shoulders and the town wakes under a wet, heavy load that bends everything it lands on. All Designs Landscape meets those storms with plows and shovels, opening driveways and walkways and breaking loose the ice that has bonded itself to concrete. Heavy snow here is water in disguise, and moving it early is far easier than chipping at it later. By midmorning the drives are dark and drying, the mountain keeps its snow, and the town goes back to its business.
