The Magic Beans Landscaping

About The Magic Beans Landscaping

There is a week in May when the meadow under Chautauqua turns a green so loud it barely looks real, and every lawn in town tries to keep pace with it. The Magic Beans Landscaping is out in the middle of that — mowing the first ambitious growth, edging the walks back to their proper width, sweeping out a winter's worth of grit and snapped twigs from the beds. The name is a nod to how fast things climb here once snowmelt comes down off the Flatirons; the trick is staying ahead of it with regular cuts instead of heroic ones. Through summer the visits keep a yard even and unbothered, and in autumn the leaves are gathered before they can mat down. Small, ordinary magic, performed on a schedule.
