April in Avon is an argument between seasons: snow still holding in the shade, mud out in the sun, and the sculptures on the Avon Road roundabouts standing calmly over both. Hollywood Services LLC. keeps a foot on each side of that line — snow plowing, shoveling and ice control for one half of the year, mowing, edging and cleanups for the other. The changeover is the tricky part, blade off and mower out, sometimes both in a single week because the valley hasn't decided yet. There's a good feeling in the first cut of the season, when a yard comes out from under all that winter looking like itself again. From there it runs straight ahead until the first flakes ask for the plow back.
