About Cavebuug
Alma lies more than ten thousand feet up in the Mosquito Range, a mining-era town where snow can turn up in almost any month. Cavebuug clears snow here, opening driveways and walks after storms that heap drifts against old clapboard and newer cabins alike. Mornings begin in thin, brilliant air, with Mount Bross and Mount Lincoln gleaming white above the rooftops. The satisfaction is in a clean run of cleared drive out to Highway 9, banks squared off and the way wide open. In a town this close to the sky, keeping the path clear is a form of good neighboring.
