Yorba

About Yorba

The old windrows of eucalyptus still stand in lines across parts of Yorba Linda, planted long ago to break the wind over ranch ground, and at dusk they turn into black shapes against a peach-colored sky. Yorba works the lawns beneath and around them — mowing, edging, trimming, clearing the bark and leaf litter those trees shed year-round onto the grass. Soil in this part of the valley drains fast and forgets water quickly, so feeding and watering rhythm carry more weight than anything fancy. Do it steadily and the lawn stays even from the front walk to the back fence. This ground has been tended in one form or another for a very long time, and the work still comes down to showing up and doing it well.
