Gudino’s Landscape

About Gudino’s Landscape

By two in the afternoon the breeze has come the six miles inland from the water and moves through Westmont, cool along Western Avenue where the fairways of Chester Washington Golf Course lie open and green behind their fence. Gudino's Landscape keeps the yards on the neighboring blocks in that same order — mowing, edging, shaping hedges and shrubs, clearing the trimmings off the drive before the truck pulls away. Late summer here is long and rainless, so the craft is in cutting at the right height and keeping the beds free of anything competing for water. A hedge squared to the fence line, a lawn edged hard against the concrete: the yard reads as intentional from the street.
