About Efrain Gonzalez Tree & Gardening Service

For a few weeks at the end of May the jacarandas along Merced Avenue drop purple over everything — sidewalks, cars and every lawn on the block. Efrain Gonzalez Tree & Gardening Service takes it in stride: mow, edge, trim the hedges, clear the fallen bloom off grass and concrete so the yard reads clean again by evening. It is gardening in the plain sense — steady hands, regular visits, a place kept in order rather than rescued. West Covina yards ask for that attention almost year-round, with the growing season barely pausing to catch its breath. Purple in spring, gold light in fall; the mower keeps its own calendar.
