About Chavez & Co. Landscaping

Afternoon in Saranap arrives sideways, dropping through the old oaks that lean over the lanes off Olympic Boulevard and printing the grass with moving shade. Mowing under those trees is its own puzzle: roots near the surface, needles and leaf litter year round, patches that get four hours of sun and patches that get none. Chavez & Co. Landscaping takes that on the way it deserves — height set for the shade, trimming worked in close around trunks and stone, beds raked out so the whole yard looks intended rather than merely cut. Walnut Creek's older neighborhoods reward that kind of care, because their lawns were shaped by trees that were here first. Come evening the mower lines catch the low light, and the place simply looks settled.
