About Rock & Rose Nursery + Landscape

At nearly six thousand feet, Truckee gets a summer that shows up late and leaves early, so every green week up here counts double. Between granite outcrops, tall Jeffrey pines and the cold, quick run of the Truckee River, a planted bed or a patch of lawn is a small act of defiance against the mountain calendar. Rock & Rose Nursery + Landscape works in that bright, thin air, pairing a nursery with landscape work and lawn care at an altitude where frost can turn up in almost any month. On a long July evening, when the light goes amber over the ridges above Donner Lake and a yard is trimmed and blooming, that short season feels like plenty. The name says it plainly: stone and flower side by side, which is exactly what a Sierra yard is made of.
