Valencia's Gardening Service

About Valencia's Gardening Service

There is a kind of Tracy backyard — west-side blocks, a lemon in one corner, an apricot leaning over the fence, roses along the path — that only stays that way because somebody comes back every week. Valencia's Gardening Service keeps that appointment, arriving mid-morning while the shade is still on the north side of the house. The work is largely done by hand and close to the ground: spent blooms clipped, hedges brought back to shape, beds weeded and turned, grass mown and edged, a hose coiled the way it was found. Nothing about a well-kept garden announces itself; it simply looks like nothing has ever gone wrong there. Holding a yard at that steady note, week after week through a valley year, is the whole point.
