About Tracy Landscape Inc

January belongs to the fog here — tule fog lying flat over the fields out past Banta until noon, muffling the whole west end of town, and the maintenance rounds of Tracy Landscape Inc go out into it anyway, because dormant season is when the real shaping gets done. Roses cut back hard, fruit wood thinned, grasses sheared to the crown, leaves gathered from the corners where the wind stacked them, sprinkler systems checked and left ready for the first warm week in March. When the season turns, the crews turn with it: mowing on a schedule, edges held to the same line each visit, beds kept clean, hedges brought back before they sprawl. There is a particular satisfaction in a property that never looks like it was rescued, only like it was never let go. That steadiness, repeated week after week, is the whole craft.
