First light near Lake Sherwood, and the lawns are still silver with dew where the hills hold the sun off an extra half hour. TurFresh takes the day from there — mowing, edging along the hardscape, trimming the awkward corners, then fertilizing and treating weeds so the turf comes back thicker than it went down. Grass cut on a cool morning stands straighter and holds its color, which is why the trucks roll before the traffic on Potrero and Westlake Boulevard does. Debris leaves with the crew and the walks are cleared, so the only evidence of a visit is the lawn itself. Fresh is a fair word for it: a yard that smells cut and looks new for the rest of the week.
