About Jessie Flores Landscape Co.

There is a particular hour at the close of a working day here when the Conejo hills turn from tawny to rose and the tools go back in the truck still warm. Jessie Flores Landscape Co. spends the daylight before it on Thousand Oaks yards — mowing, edging, trimming, hedge and shrub work, and cleanups that leave nothing behind but the smell of cut grass. The measure of a day is simple enough: how many yards look better than they did at sunrise. A straight border along a walk, an even cut across the front, a driveway blown clean — that is the whole ledger. Then the light goes, and in the morning it all begins again.
