About Triple C's landscaping

In late August a thunderhead will build over the mountains above Keene and drag its shadow down the canyon, and for twenty minutes the whole world smells like wet creosote and dust. Triple C's landscaping works the hours on either side of that — mowing, trimming, edging, cutting back growth along the canyon roads, and hauling off what the storm shakes loose. Grass at the bottom of a canyon grows in odd bursts, thick where the water collects and thin where the rock wins, so keeping it even takes attention rather than speed. The satisfying part is the after: cut lines running true across an uneven yard, edges tight, nothing left in the driveway. Then the sky clears off toward Caliente and the light comes back gold.
