Julian's Basque Yard Services

About Julian's Basque Yard Services

When a storm clears off the Tehachapi Mountains in January, Double Mountain wears its white for a day or two and the whole valley goes bright and quiet and hard-edged. Winter here does not put a yard to sleep so much as leave it needing a hand: branches down, brush piled where the wind stacked it, dormant turf waiting on the first warm week. Julian's Basque Yard Services works that stretch of the calendar — cleanup, brush and limb removal, trimming, hauling, and mowing again the moment the grass remembers what it is for. It is unglamorous work in cold air, and it is exactly what makes March look easy. There is something worth standing back for in a yard cleared down to its bones with the mountains still holding snow behind it.
