About Valdibiagardening

Late in the day the light comes in sideways over the Santa Cruz Mountains and every lawn in Sunnyvale turns the color of a ripe apricot — a fair thing in a town that once grew them by the orchard row. Valdibiagardening keeps its yards ready for that hour: grass cut even, borders trimmed back off the concrete, clippings gathered and carried off. The dry stretch here runs long, so summer is mostly patience — mowing high, watching the corners that brown first, coaxing a lawn through August until the breeze turns cool after dinner. Then the November rain arrives, the whole valley floor wakes up at once, and the mowing begins again. That turning-over is the pleasure of the job, and the tidy yard at the end of it is the proof.
