About BelLoren Gardens

Late in May the jacarandas over South Gate's side streets let go all at once, and for a week the sidewalks go violet underfoot. BelLoren Gardens works those blocks with a mower and a line trimmer, cutting clean lanes across Bermuda and St. Augustine and sweeping the fallen blossom off the concrete before it stains. Edges are run by hand along the driveway and the walk, so the lawn stops exactly where it was meant to stop. Hedges come back square, the trimmings leave with the truck, and the yard sounds quieter after than it did before. In a town where things grow fast in the long California light, that steadiness is the whole job.
