About VDLA Landscape Architects

South of town the San Dieguito valley opens wide and flat, and in March the wet ground down there throws up green in a hurry before the dry months take it back. VDLA Landscape Architects draws Solana Beach gardens with that annual swing in mind, planning planting, grading and lawn areas so a property looks intentional in April and still holds together in September. The plan sets the bones, and the follow-through does the rest, mowing to an even height, edging the lawn against walks and beds, pruning and mulching as the garden fills out. Coastal fog carries a garden through many mornings, but irrigation and steady care carry it through the rest. When a design and its upkeep are pulling the same direction, a place quietly gets better every year.
