About Krista Percival Landscape Design

June mornings here open under a soft grey lid that hangs until eleven, and then the sun cuts through and the jacarandas along the residential streets go violet all at once. Krista Percival Landscape Design works in the small, close spaces of Solana Beach, the walled courtyards and side gardens a few blocks up from the water where every square foot is asked to do something. A design might be one clipped square of lawn, a bench under a tree, and planting beds arranged so the color changes as the year turns. The work carries through to the upkeep: mowing that patch clean, edging it true, pruning so the courtyard keeps its proportions. Gardens this size are read from three feet away, which is exactly why the details are worth the time.
