Shasta Lawn Stewards

About Shasta Lawn Stewards

By late August the lake has drawn down and left its pale red ring high along the shoreline, and every yard in town is having the same conversation about water. Shasta Lawn Stewards mows tall through the heat, keeps blades sharp so grass seals instead of tearing, and edges and trims so a lawn still looks cared for while it gets by on less. Stewardship is mostly restraint — cutting at the right height, at the right hour, and leaving the clippings where they will do some good. When the rains come back in November, the lawns handled gently are the first ones to answer. Serving Shasta Lake and the neighborhoods spread out above the dam.
