Brita's Old Town Gardens

About Brita's Old Town Gardens

Old Town's lots are narrow and its alleys are narrower, so every square foot of lawn between the porch and the sidewalk carries weight. Brita's Old Town Gardens keeps those small greens in order — grass cut short and even, edges run along the walk, clippings gathered up instead of left to drift down Electric Avenue. Mornings start cool here, salt in the air, the greenbelt trees still dripping from the night. It is close work, much of it done by hand where a mower will not fit, and the payoff is a front yard that makes the whole block sit up straighter. Nothing showy; just a garden that looks looked-after.
