Arce's Santee Tree Service

About Arce's Santee Tree Service

The San Diego River comes through Santee in a wide sandy channel, sycamores and cottonwoods standing in it like they own the place, Cowles Mountain squared up over the west end of town. Summer here is a long dry press of heat, and trimming ahead of it keeps a crown light enough to hold together when the hot wind shows up. Pruning gets done in the cool part of the year — shaping the young trees, lifting the old ones off a roofline. Tree removal on Santee lots is roped out over block walls, the stump ground down, the yard swept back to bare. Then the winter rains arrive and knock branches loose, and storm damage cleanup gets the driveway usable and the last of it off the curb.
