Most summer nights the marine air comes up Petaluma Hill Road and settles over the south end of Santa Rosa, so the first hours of the day are cool and gray and the grass is still beaded when the mower starts. Vicelandscape likes that window — mowing before the burn-off, edging the driveways, trimming the fence lines, bagging the wet cuttings so nothing mats down. By eleven the sky has cleared to the hard blue this valley is known for, and the yards behind them read sharp and even in it. Winter flips the picture: everything green, everything growing, the mowing schedule tightening again. The point of the whole thing is a lawn that looks cared for on any given Tuesday.
