Call it and Haul it

About Call it and Haul it

Down where the Santa Clara riverbed runs wide and pale between the willows, Santa Paula has always understood that a place gets tidy when somebody is willing to load the trailer. Call it and Haul it takes the cutting and the carrying in one pass: overgrowth mowed and knocked down, brush and yard waste hauled away, a side lot or alley cleared to bare ground. Afternoons out toward Peck Road can go hot and still, and a pile that sat through the whole dry season disappears in one of them anyway. The payoff is that first look at an emptied yard — the fence line visible again, room to walk, dust settling. Call it, and it goes.
