Armstrong Garden Centers

About Armstrong Garden Centers

Most mornings in Santa Monica begin under a gray lid that came in off the bay overnight and won't lift until eleven. Armstrong Garden Centers works those cool hours, when the grass along the Wilshire blocks is still heavy with damp and cuts clean. Mowing, edging, trimming, the clippings gathered and gone — the work is plain, and the plane of a finished lawn holds the low light like water. By afternoon the fog has pulled back to a blue rim past Memorial Park, and the yards read sharp from the sidewalk. That is a good thing to leave behind: a lawn that looks like someone paid attention.
