About Western Tree Service

East of town the valley narrows toward Sisquoc, vineyard rows running up to the oaks where the foothills begin. Harvest mornings out there are cold and clear, and it is a good stretch for pruning — sap down, structure plain, the cuts sitting quiet through winter. Around the ranch houses and back on the streets of Santa Maria proper, trimming keeps limbs off outbuildings and out of the wires. Tree removal is a rigging job when there is a roof beneath it and a straight fell when there is not; either way the wood is loaded out and gone. When a storm off the Pacific runs up Foxen Canyon and puts a limb down, storm damage cleanup sets the place right again.
