About Terra Bella Landscaping and Design

In winter the storms swing in off Monterey Bay, the San Lorenzo runs loud beneath the trestle, and every garden in town drinks for a solid month. Terra Bella Landscaping and Design reads that cycle into the work, drawing planting plans and bed shapes, then planting, mulching and laying out yards that suit a place with soaking Januarys and rainless Julys. Ongoing care follows the same plan: mowing and edging, pruning, weeding, and clearing the redwood duff that drifts down from the mountains and settles over the beds. Between the ridgeline and the water there is room for gardens that feel like they belong to this coast, and that is what gets sketched on the page and then dug in. The reward is the long view, a yard that looks better in its third year than in its first.
