At La Selva Beach the Monterey pines lean inland, shaped by years of wind off the water, and the cypress along the bluff roads have taken the same posture. La Selva Tree & Landscape works both halves of its name — pruning and thinning trees, taking out deadwood, removals and stump grinding when a tree is done, then the ground beneath it: planting, bed work, mowing, trimming and cleanups. Wind and sandy soil mean structure matters here; a tree kept open moves with a gust instead of fighting it. Storm season brings the calls, and the dry months bring the shaping. Chips and cuttings leave with the crew, and the yard is lighter than it was that morning.
