Garden Works

About Garden Works

On the older blocks off Lyons Avenue the backyards run deep and go shaggy at the corners, and hummingbirds turn up the moment a hose comes on. Garden Works tends that kind of yard: lawn care and mowing, edging, trimming, planting and garden beds, weeding, feeding and cleanups that reach the corners most people skip. A garden is a different animal from a lawn — it wants hands in it, a little at a time, all year long. Pull what does not belong, cut back what has finished, water deeply and rarely, and the place answers within a month. Some afternoons the truest measure of the work is simply that the yard is worth sitting in until dark.
