Turf Recon

About Turf Recon

Morning comes early over Sand Canyon, the light sliding down off the Sierra Pelona before the heat has decided what it wants to do. Turf Recon reads a yard the way you read a ridgeline — where the sun sits longest, where the grass has thinned, where a strip along the driveway has been quietly giving up. Then the work: mowing at a height a valley summer can live with, edges cut to a straight seam along the walk, string trimming into the corners a mower will never reach, and clippings blown off the concrete so the whole thing looks deliberate. Weeds are pulled and treated before they seed themselves down the block, and feeding is timed to the season rather than the calendar. By the time Mint Canyon Road fills with traffic, the lawn is standing at attention and the truck is two streets over.
