The eucalyptus windrows in Northwood were planted generations ago to break the wind across open ranch land, and on a blustery afternoon you can still hear them work, a long dry rush overhead. Don's Landscaping does the finishing that wind undoes: mowing, edging, tree and shrub trimming, leaf and debris cleanup, and fertilization to keep turf thick through a dry stretch. The trees drop what they drop, the yard fills up, and somebody has to go through it with a rake and a good deal of patience. Pulling out of a driveway with the lawn cut, the walks blown off and the bins loaded is a plain kind of pride, and it holds up. Irvine and the surrounding towns.
