About Landwell Design + Build Co.

Drive a few minutes south of San Luis Obispo and the land opens into Edna Valley — vineyard rows ruled across the flats, oaks standing alone in the middle of fields, and an evening light that flatters every lawn it touches. Landwell Design + Build Co. handles lawn care out on those roads and back in town: mowing to a set height, edges cut sharp, weeds pulled before they can seed, fertilizer timed to the growing weather. Inland summers here run long and dry, so much of the craft is simply keeping turf even and green while the hills go tan around it. Come autumn the tarweed smell drifts in, the nights cool, and the grass answers within a week. What the work is really for is uncomplicated and worth having: a yard that reads as cared for from the road.
