About Figueroa Family Lawncare & Landscape

Out where the city thins into Alviso and the salt ponds throw back the last of the light, the wind picks up around five and does not quit. Figueroa Family Lawncare & Landscape takes the yards along Gold Street and the newer blocks inland, mowing, edging, trimming hedges, pulling weeds, clearing the beds before the season turns over. Grass grows differently this close to the marsh — softer air, a long green winter, a hard dry August — and the schedule bends to match it. Fertilizing, aeration and overseeding are the unglamorous half of the job, and the half that decides how a lawn looks in July. Then the last pass, and a driveway with nothing left on it before dark.
