About Alder Landscape Architecture

Mornings on the Daly City bluffs start with salt in the air and the Pacific working away below Mussel Rock, and the mowers go out while the grass is still beaded. Alder Landscape Architecture keeps lawns on these windward streets cut and tidy — mowing, edging, trimming, and hauling the clippings off so nothing mats down in the damp. Coastal grass grows differently out here; it drinks the marine air all summer and asks to be cut on a rhythm rather than a whim. There is real satisfaction in the last pass, when the stripes line up toward the ocean and the border along the walk reads like a drawn line. By afternoon the wind has dried everything and the yard looks like someone lives there on purpose.
