American Lawn Co.

About American Lawn Co.

East of the city the heat arrives early and stays, and by July the ground out toward Santee and Mission Trails is baked hard under Cowles Mountain. American Lawn Co. runs its mowing routes before the thermometer gets serious, taking the grass in tidy passes while there is still shade on the east side of the house. Edges get run along the concrete, the trimmer takes the fence line and the mailbox post, and every last clipping goes off the driveway. A lawn cut clean in that dry inland light reads green from a hundred feet away. Summer here is long, and the answer to it is showing up on schedule.
